In 2001 I completed study in Drug and Alcohol Counselling and started working with a group of counsellors. I found this rewarding but felt I needed to expand my understanding of underlying issues. This led me in 2013 to complete 3 years study in the Diploma of Adult Psychotherapy through the Australia New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists (ANZAP).This has given me the tools and skills to work better with deeper issues, understanding the profound affect it can have on client’s lives bringing about lifelong change.
long with my psychotherapy training was the requirement to do my own long term psychotherapy which taught me so much about myself and also what it is like to sit in the client’s chair
As part of my ongoing training I did the first year of Gestalt Psychotherapy and various other seminars and training to get a greater depth of knowledge.
I look back on many years of experience with different people and issues and see a depth of experience that only comes with time.
- I genuinely care about each client and their personal therapeutic journey
- Each person will be valued as an individual, with dignity and esteem
- A professional approach will be held at all times
- I understand the need for confidentiality, which will be held absolutely, except in situations of danger to self or others
I work in a comfortable, purpose built therapy room at the back of my home in Parklands, Christchurch.
